WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT THE ROYAL CRESCENT

There’s nothing like spending a warm summers afternoon chilling at the Royal Crescent just before picking up your camera and doing what you love! What more could a wedding photographer ask for?

When Becky and I started talking about where to do her engagement shoot we decided on Bath because its where tcelebrated their engagement after Evan proposed in Disney Land! I honestly couldn’t think of a better place to have an engagement shoot than in the royal Crescent followed by some fun photos of Bath on the Beach! It’s actually listed at number three of one of the top 5 places to propose in Bath, you can find out which are number 1 & 2 here šŸ™‚

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be able to travel down to Bath to photograph Becky & Evan’s Engagement shoot at the Royal Crescent and its surrounding areas. I actually grew up in Bath so I knew the areas extremely well. I arrived about an hour earlier to check out the best locations and current light conditions. Normally, I’m on high alert looking for shaded spots from the harsh sunlight or the counter opposite, trying to find shelter from the rain but not this day! The weather was warm and sunny with a light cloud covering the sky! It really is the perfect light for photography! One thing that I have always loved about Bath is the colour of the bricks, it’s great for light and romantic photographs.

We chose to do our shoot on a Monday evening to attempt to limit the tourists… This didn’t really work, it was pretty busy but hey-ho, thats what photoshop is for šŸ˜‰

I could have honestly stayed here for hours photographing Evan and Becky dancing on the never ending lawn in front of the crescent. In a city that has such exquisite architecture, this street still stands out as one of my all time favourites.

Should you have an engagement shoot? The Answer is YES!! An engagement shoot is the perfect way to prepare for your wedding day by practicing some poses, getting used to the camera and getting to know each other and what you’re comfortable with.Ā  I would highly recommend having an engagement session early so that you can use the images for your ‘Save the dates’ or your ‘Invitations’, IfĀ  you’re really on the ball you could even combine it with your hair and make-up trial and make the most of your pre-wedding experiences. Regardless of when you have your engagement shoot you’ll have some gorgeous new images to have hang around your house or placed in an album.

If you’re looking to have a pre-wedding shoot / an engagement shoot in Bath please feel free to contact me here and find out more about my availability.Ā
